God, thank you, NO… I mean it! Not just for your blessings but for who you are. This is my desire; to seek you daily. In the small things. Like the petals of a flower. Tell me again Lord the story of how you rescued me. As I count the petals of the flower… “He loves me”, “He loves me”, “He loves me”… DAILY: He loved me first so I can love Him to the last. Not just through the good times, but through all times.
Relationships are messy. Sometimes we want to give up. Throw in the towel. Not God. Just when you thought you were ready to give up give in, or sell out… a new bouquet (almost looks like beaucoup! A bouquet of beaucoup blessings! More petals… are there thorns in those roses? Who cares? When the fragrance hits us. Twofold… our sins is repugnation to God our sincere praise, worship and prayer on the other hand are incense or a perfume to His nostrils. Childbirth – painful? YES. But one look, that first look into your child’s eyes, is it not worth all of it? OH! So there you are, this blessing I have carried, nourished and toiled over for 9 1/2 months. Did it come quickly Was it overnight? NO.
Blessings come in the strangest wrappings, but they are sometimes birthed through trial and error.
The seed has been planted, but only a GOOD seed (the ones that come from the heart) will reap a harvest. See, if your heart isn’t in it, you can’t make the distance. A good seed is only as good as the farmer. In other words, good seed will only harvest through nurture. It must be watered in prayer – DAILY. God doesn’t need to be reminded of our seed does He? After all, He is sovereign, all knowing, WHY then should we remind Him? To show Him WE care! He loves us, true. This is a RELATIONSHIP, a deep bonding. If we don’t communicate DAILY, it will begin to whither. See, you can walk out on God. He will still bless you, because He loves you. YOU, on the other hand, will miss the bouquet. Name your seed. Today, I plant a rose. … Shakespeare.
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” – William Shakespeare
NO. There is one God. His name is Yaweh, His Son is Jesus and the Holy Spirit goes before Him.
(We have hardships in life because we have an enemy!A blessing blocker.) The Holy Spirit woos you, Jesus saves you and God loves you… before you were born.
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” —Psalms 139:13 NLT
See, YOU, yes, YOU were created with a purpose. A divine assignment The enemy loves to hold us in bondage, to sin, to poverty, to leave us longing…
Brings to mind A Knight’s Tale quote:
“You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. In what world could you possibly beat me?”
The enemy wants us to feel defeated before we’ve even begun. We long for deep intimacy, but in man this is flawed. We are to seek God above all else. When we fill our hearts desires with things of this world, we are left wanting. Wanting more of something that is ever elusive. What we end up with is sin and a jumbled mess inside.
We long for more, more sin more possessions, more success (or failure), more money, more control, more power over our lives. You have a vice – the enemy gifted that to you and I promise – the wrapper was irresistible – at first. Then you were hooked – well there is an escape.
“Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love the world, you show that you do not have the love of the Father in you”. – 1 John 2:15 NLT
We were destined for more! Wealth you ask? Yes. Abundance? Yes. Success? Yes. R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-I-L-I-T-Y? Buckle up – OH YES!!! YES! YES! YES!
Is there something you hate? I mean absolutely despise? Poverty? Children starving? Porn? – Child exploitation? Drugs maybe? The destruction left in its wake? Ignorance? The woes of a lack of education? Gambling? self destruction? Pick your poison. There are many to choose from.
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” —John 10:10 NLT
Do not be deceived, Jesus came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly.
Pick one, this will be your flower, your seed. YOUR BURDEN!
You wonder what God was thinking when He created you? Well, WORLD-CHANGER for starters. See His desire is to reach ALL the world – YES, YOU – EVERY ONE, your family, friends…the list goes on, WHY? HE LOVES YOU!
See, by seeking Him first you change, your heart changes. Your world view changes. YOU begin to make a difference. Small and incremental, maybe like a seed, you grow. Your burden grows! You want to make a difference. It’s NO LONGER about YOU. It’s about HIM. See, when you put Him first BIG things happen; first in you, then around you.
God begins a work in you the moment you believe and ask sincere forgiveness.
You aren’t the same on the inside. Did you know you get a new name? A name from God. You have a new identity It is something you will GROW into. God thinks BIG. Look at the universe. Do we have one or two stars? No Billions on billions. Same for your identity in Him. You are HIS child. He is KING. What does that make you? OH YES! Not just His child, but a Princess, a Prince! You are an heir/heiress. NOT by entitlement, but by HIS Grace. You are forgiven of your sins not by your works,or overcoming temptation (Satan’s seed for sin) BUT through HIS MERCY.
God doesn’t give us more than we can bear… REALLY? I give my life to God and poof! I have no worries? Oh, NO, you become more aware that you have an enemy to fight! (Remember your burden?) Yes, now you are to go to battle for His kingdom.
“For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.” – Ephesians 6:12 NLT
I hear you, ‘WAIT! What happened to the heir/heiress thing? PRINCE, PRINCESS?” Well, you’re born again into His kingdom but you must fight in defense for that kingdom. We are His hands and feet by the words of our testimony. We are not entitled to anything. We are born with an enemy He knows you have destiny. The more he distracts you with YOUR desires in THIS world, the less effective you become in God’s kingdom.
Example: The more I spend on MY wants, not NEEDS, the less I have for God’s kingdom. Sound crazy? It’s not. See everything has a price. Sin cost Jesus His life. NOT HIS sin, but sin. He died so we can be closer to God. He is NOT a “get out of hell free” card. How much does it cost to feed a soul? Clothe a soul? How much did someone invest to reach you? A church pew, chair, building, time, effort? You have questions that demand answers. It costs someone something to answer you. It comes back to your burden and your seed. How much of yourself, money, time and effort can you give?… to reach someone in the trenches? … for eternal life, and a life of abundance. Sometimes we get more than we can bear, though that is not a bad thing. The enemy will attack, there are hardships in life. BUT, when we lean on Him and Godly council, we will get through it. He is waiting on the other side of it. He sends His angels to us for protection, guidance and comfort. Why? Because life is full of hardships.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you.” —–John 14:16 NLT (Other translations refer to Counselor as Comforter – meaning the Holy Spirit)
He knows this. He gave His only Son for us. Jesus suffered for us. For YOU more specifically. It’s simple. The enemy has one primary goal – to STOP you. And we let him, we get weak, we fall, in short we fail God, BUT, we also GET BACK UP! When we repent (sincerely apologize) we GET BACK UP! and, guess what? eventually we get back up and stand we STAND TALL. It’s not the falling down that God counts, it’s the standing up. “I don’t get this walking thing, I give up!” – said no one —- EVER. We were born to walk upright. Those who truly can NOT long for it. Find your burden, find your identity in Christ.
My personal reflection, I choose to strive for a Godly life so
1) I can have an intimate relationship with Christ.
2) I can reach someone struggling.
—That is my burden.
How can I help someone get through something I haven’t been delivered from? Being a Christian is not a destination, it is a journey. A relationship – eternal relationship.
When you are saved, the angels in heaven rejoice! Your eternal friendship – no deeper than that relationship with God has begun. Jesus suffered in this world so we don’t have to suffer eternally. We will have hardships, but WITH God, we can endure and overcome them. When your sacrifice is greater than your burden, MIRACLES happen.
When you get closer to God, you….
1) Have a burden for the lost.
2)Have a burden for your own vices. – OVERCOMER
3) You look OUT, not IN
4) You grow into your identity with Christ.
5) You find peace and joy in your circumstance.
6) You fight for God. – this is crucial. You are willing to endure whatever the enemy throwns your way to be closer to God. KNOWLEDGE of God turned to action changes your heart. Heart knowledge = COMPASSION.
